杨崧 教授

杨崧,国家“千人计划”特聘教授、中山大学学术委员会委员、学位评定委员会委员、理学学科学术分委员会委员、环境科学与工程学院学术委员会主席及副院长,兼任中国气象学会副热带气象委员会副主任、多个院校和研究机构科学指导委员会委员、《气象学报》常务编委、《Journal of Meteorological Research》编委、《Journal of Climate》副编委等。

杨崧教授是我国大气科学界第一位放弃国外终身职务的国家“千人计划”特聘教授,是国家重大科学研究计划项目首席科学家,也是国家多种重大重点科学研究项目和人才项目的评审专家。他曾任美国联邦政府公务员、美国商业部国家海洋大气局资深研究员、美国国家环境预报中心国际季风预报员培训平台主任、气候预报中心全球季风团队主管、中国旅美科学技术协会副会长及华盛顿分会会长、美国华人海洋大气学会会长和SCI期刊《Advances in Atmospheric Sciences》主编。他还曾任邓小平总设计师和美国卡特总统在1979年签发的中美政府科学技术双边合作项目中气候与季风组的美方负责人,多次作为美国政府代表团成员参与制定中美气候合作计划,并多次受邀与国家和部门领导人座谈中美科技合作和发展。他为中国气象领域培训了大批科技骨干人员,并积极参与美国多个专业团体的组织和管理,对中美科技、教育、企业和文化交流与合作起到了重要的桥梁作用。他获得多个专业学会的奖励,并多次接受美国科学杂志、中国中央电视台、中国科学院科学在线和中国气象报等多家媒体采访。

杨崧教授作为国际知名科学家,在区域气候对全球气候变化的响应和反馈作用、全球季风、大气-海洋-陆地相互作用和气候可预报性等领域取得了许多有重要影响的研究成果。1992年,他与世界著名科学家韦伯斯特教授在英国皇家气象学会季刊发表了具有深远影响的论文(Monsoon and ENSO: Selectively interactive systems),创立了季风与厄尔尼诺相互作用的新概念和新理论,并提出了目前全世界季风研究和业务应用上最为广泛的韦伯斯特-杨崧指数。作为该研究领域最权威的学术论著之一,它有力地推动了国际相关领域研究的发展。到目前为止,杨崧教授已发表学术论文120多篇,累计被引用约6000次,其中最高单篇引用约1200次,是爱思唯尔(Elsevier)公布的2014 年地球和行星科学领域中国高被引学者之一。

杨崧教授1978年毕业于中山大学地理系,并于1982年和1990年分别从中山大学和美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学取得硕士和博士学位。
